The Saskatchewan Association of Science Fairs, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging Saskatchewan youth to develop scientific literacy as well as to demonstrate these ideas in the form of projects displayed at annual Regional and Canada-Wide Science Fairs.
"It is in the best interest of our society and our economy to support the creation of an innovation culture and the nurturing of a generation of scientifically literate young people who will push forward the boundaries of our knowledge and improve the quality of our lives in the future."
~Saskatchewan Premier Lorne Calvert, proclaiming March as Youth Science Festival Month.
SASFI solicits support from provincial sponsors and distributes it equitably to the Regional Science Fairs within the province. SASFI also assists with distribution of general information as well as conducting the annual Winners' Showcase event, a celebration of the success of youth scientists across the province.
There are currently 11 Regional Science Fairs in Saskatchewan. Regional Science Fairs (RSF) feed into the Canada-Wide Science Fair, which can lead to further opportunities in international-level competition. If you wish to participate in a regional science fair, please contact the provincial coordinator of SASFI or the RSF closest to your location.
